Your Instructor: Aurora Lopez

Aurora (she/ella), is a Xicana mama of two homebirthed seeds, Luna Q’anil and Mazatl Sol, born and raised in Unseeded Huichin Ohlone Territory (East Oakland, Ca.). Her roots are from Sinaloa and Michoacan, México and for the past 20 years, she has served her bay area comunidad in many ways through her long standing commitment to justice, healing, and liberation of immigrant communities, communities of color, young people, womyn and those who are incarcerated. Rooted in Mexican Traditional Medicine, she offers gentle, non-judgemental, consent-based, family-centered care in their journeys surrounding the profound experience of childbirth. In her practice, she honors the collective wisdom of the family unit, whether that is 1, 2, or more, including their cultural origins, to guide the expecting person and the family during this right of passage. She offers educational, emotional, and spiritual support, as well as traditional and natural evidence-based remedies that promote optimal health and well-being; including herbal medicine, body work, rebozo support, nourishing foods, and placenta treatment.
